Abstract Robert Elgie's contribution to comparative politics is considerable. His work covers a range of subfields, including the study political institutions, French politics, leadership, presidentialism and semi-presidentialism. He became leading scholar semi-presidentialism indeed defined much research agenda in this subfield.
